I saw an advertisement for a pantomime this morning. It's still bloody August for God's sake. I would really like to live in a world where I could digest my Christmas dinner before I'm being harangued with ads for Summer holidays and where I can enjoy a stroll down the High Street in June without seeing displays of school pullovers and pencil cases. I also don't want to buy sun dresses in February or a new Winter coat in August. No doubt the next time I go into M&S the Christmas cards and wrapping paper will be on prominent display. Can't we just live in the present?

I hate it when real life and retailers go out of sinc and you know that Christmas decorations will soon be on the shelves as it is almost September.

Defy them by wearing everything all at once - swimming costume, winter coat, tinsel, flip flops -and munch Easter eggs and Christmas cake at the same time.

I was out this afternoon with my mum in a local gardening centre...i kid you not, the christmas section has already been setup....tried explaining that Christmas is still 4 months away to DD when she got all excited, not fun.

Spotted a display of Christmas cards yesterday :(

Oh gosh, this has reminded me of when I used to work in a theatre, and we used to start selling the Christmas Panto in February, and was usually sold out by June, which is when we put up the Panto display boards. We also played Panto/Christmas music in the Box Office from September. Agggh

Actually, I remember being in a small local supermarket in Dublin a few years ago on a scorching hot Sunday in August. Everyone was walking around in flip flops buying stuff for a barbie, and 'Have yourself a merry little Christmas' was playing over the tannoy. Weird!
