Good News, Bad News

I received some brilliant news this morning and have been on a high all day. One of my closest friends rang me about half an hour ago with some really sad news. She was crying on the phone and I was close to tears. I now feel really sad for her but still happy about my news and am feeling guilty about feeling happy when she is so upset. AIBU to feel guilty or AIBU to still be happy about my good news. (My good news is work related, her bad news is family related so more important).

life is like that sometimes, yu ned to keep your own good news in perspective and be there for your friend not going on aboutit when she just needs you to be there for her

YANBU.

I have had a bad thing and a good thing happen today and I can see the problem with feeling pulled in different directions.

You can still be there for your friend as well as enjoying your work success.

I know. I never even mentioned my good news, or even thought about it when I was talking to her.
