I've tried 3 times now. On each occasion it has taken 2-3 hours. Then it gets to having 1 or 2 SECONDS remaining and I get an error box saying the connection timed out and I should check my network. Everything else works OK (although our internet connection is fairly rubbish) so I don't think its our network.

Has anyone else had this problem? What can I do to fix it. I can't even get onto Apple's website its so slow. Everything about Apple seems to be slow - its ridiculous.

I had the same issue a couple of times and then eventually it worked. My husband managed to wipe all of his music! If you email Apple support they are very good and reply within 48 hours.

It sounds as though it might be your connection because Apple's website loads very quickly for me?

Are you doing it through iTunes? I just plugged my phone into my laptop, booted up iTunes and it did it automatically in about 5 minutes.

Still getting nowhere. Please would someone give me the address to email Apple support. I can only find a phone number, but I don't fancy being on the phone for 4 hours waiting for them to pick it up at the other end.

you may not want to. We've just taken it off our iphone 3G as it was useless. Kept making the phone slower

I agree with Essie, it made my phone much slower. very frustrating!

To be fair to Apple, they did say it would work fine with 3GS but be slow with 3G. I have a GS and it is same speed as old OS.

Yes, I agree - I bought a case just before they announced that everyone would get free ones, but I couldn't get an Apple branded case because they are sold out everywhere, so I got another one instead (Gear 4), but it seems that you can't get a refund on that because its not an Apple one. Bastards.

I had problems with this and just had to turn my router off and on again - it worked fine after that.

I had a problem with mine - I made sure I had the latest version of itunes running, then restarted my computer and it all worked fine. Worth a try?

For the free case, there is an app to download then a choice of ones to order (2 weeks+ until it's delivered though)
