YANBU unless you announced that you were about to have a cull as a facebook status update, and then later another status update saying "if you are still here, you are okay for now".

I have a "friend" who keeps doing that.

YANBU I have deleted quite a few recently. Two for blatant racism, one old school friend for ignoring me in Morrisons when I said Hello to her and a load more because of the complete and utter crap they come out with on there.

one of my fb friends has culled his fb account by 3900 friends...I oticed this morning his note that if we could read it we were friends or he wants to get jiggey - I am the wrong sex for him though so I must be a friend

One of my friends deleted me....i was gutted for about 5 minutes until i realized she'd been boring the arse of me for yrs....

Not U at all. I did the same last night! I also created a category of "restricted" friends, who won't see all my status updates and general drivel. Very liberating. I wouldn't dream of telling people this though!

I suppose it depends how friendly you'd been as to whether explanations are necessary..

I cut 3 'friends' who had a conversation via wall to wall about how I was a nutter and no wonder XH left me. I also blocked them.

stupidly Darrell, my sister and I were the ones who encouraged her as at 75 she's pretty nifty with a PC and she can keep in touch with relatives & friends abroad.....we didn't think through the consequences of having her comment on everything we post {hmm}

capitalText the racist ones I told them why I was deleting them and as for the woman in Morrisons I just have the opinion that if you don't really know me well enough to recognise me then you don't need to be on my fb, she definitely heard me say hello.
