Best washing up liquid for someone with severe excema

This is on behalf of my MIL. The only washing up liquid she's been able to use without causing the excema on her hands to flare badly, is Persil washing up liquid - but she has been told that it is no longer available.

She has tried fairy liquid, but that gave her excema, even with gloves on, so I was wondering if any of you wise mumsnetters could suggest what she could try next.

Many thanks!

i have really bad eczema and the ONLY washing up liquid i can use is the ecover brand

pointydog · 22/06/2010 18:53

surely wearing gloves is the solution? Unless she is also allergic to the gloves.

well if she is like me she is allergic to the gloves its a pita.

what can help is to wear plain cotton gloves inside the washing up gloves, but its a pita.

She says she's not allergic to the gloves - she uses them for other household cleaning with no problems, I gather. But the fairy upset her skin even with the gloves.

I will pass on your advice about the ecover - thank you!
