Ezcema - Newborns - Best treatment

My first child suffers with ezcema, we use Doublebase and this now keeps it at bay. He is three. Ezcema was dreadful when he was 0-6months.
Just had new baby and his skin is thin, flaky and spotty. Any advice for best emollient to use on him to make him comfy and try to minimise flare up of full blown ezcema over the coming months.
Baby likely to be allergic to wool and lanolin as am I and DS1.
Midwife suggested Vaseline or Olive Oil.
Any experiences please?

We used Aveeno from early on, both the cream and the bath oil. You can get it on prescription and is natural.
