i wasnt sure where to post this. i have just decided to take my 6 month old daughter off of neutramigan 2 as her allergy tests came back fine as we thought that this was what was causing her terrible reflux and as it hasnt helped one bit only has aggrevated it me and my boyfriend decided to try sma staydown just wondered if anyone has used it and what ur opinions was on it. we have tried cow and gate stage 1 & soya, aptimil 1 & 2,nutramigan 2 so we have tried quite a lot. she is currently on zantac 1.3mils 3x daily. would be great to here ur views. she also brings up pureed food if it isnt thick enough, just wondered if anyone had the same thing.

My daughter had mild reflux and SMA staydown worked great for her and by 6 months I was able to take her off it and use the ordinary follow on milk. There are different preparation methods for it which I found irritating but it was worth it as she kept her milk down and was more comfortable. I believe weaning helps reflux so perhaps as she moves on to more solid foods she'll get better.

hiya thnx for ur reply. my daughter is 6 and half months and on 3 meals a day which some of which she brings up aswell as milk, she is on zantac 3 times a day aswell. i was really hopeing weaning would have helped but unfortunately not. i have found tht the volume of sick isnt no where near as much since she has been on this sma staydown. yeh the preperation is rather different to the other milks but we usually boil the water then cool it and put into the bottles then put them in the fridge and just add the powder when we need it.

I suppose if you can't find anything that cures it you just have to do what helps to minimise it. Hopefully she will grow out of it. I didn't need to try anything because the SMA staydown did the job for us. Hope she feels more comfortable.
