I'm looking after my parents' dog. Never used to suffer any ill-effects when I lived with said dog, although this was 12 years ago. Now I find I get itchy eyes and a scratchy throat when she stays here.
Dog has been here since this morning and although my throat, nose and eyes have known she's here, this evening I felt much worse when dh moved her bed into the living room. Nothing major - just sore eyes, scratchy throat, itchy nose and itchy skin on my neck. Mum usually washes the dog bed before she brings her here but didn't this time.
Poor old dog - had to give up on enjoying her company and retreat upstairs. I've showered and taken piriton.
We're looking after the dog for a whole week in July. I'm wondering whether it is worth giving the dog a new bed while she's here (was thinking a Wilko/Asda pillow and pillow case). Do you think it would make a difference? It would be nice to be able to use my own living room while she's here!
