Where on earth can I get trousers with feet in bigger sizes for my scratchy baby?

Hi,

Anyone know where I can get trousers or soft dungarees with feet in sizes bigger than 3-6 months? I know mothercare do trousers up to that size and I have one pair of dungarees I found there. My ds (7months) has eczema and uses his toenails to scratch the backs of his legs (eek). Socks are no match for him so he pretty much lives in babygros now. I'd really love to put him in something approaching actual clothes but really struggling!

BTW, I have also discovered Scratch Sleeves (should come up on Google) for bedtime and they are brilliant!

Thanks!

maybe you could put him in tights a few sizes bigger if its just for bedtime. theyd be readily available and as long as therye not too snug will do instead of pj pants

Thanks that's a good idea, really looking for daytime though. I swear people must think I just don't get him dressed in the morning when I take him out in a babygro!

have you tried sewing socks into the bottom of trousers?

I used to take my eczema-covered son out in a patterned or coloured babygro with ordinary dungarees over the top until he was about 9 months old. Babygros are so comfortable, I always think. He looked rather stylish and it was ever so easy to dress him. People were always asking how I had managed to match his socks with his top.

Would he manage to get little velcro shoes off. That may be an option and at least then you can dress him 'properly'/

bargainhuntingbetty · 12/04/2010 10:51

these go up to 18months and come in a veriety of colours

yes yes babygro & dungarees

I do this but because I am lazy not due to eczema

bargainhuntingbetty · 12/04/2010 10:56

scroll down a bit and there are some here too

Why can't he wear tights in the daytime? I used to put them on a LO I used to look after to stop scratching. I bought 100% cotton ones in boyish colour.

Thanks, some great ideas!
