We have been TTC for 5m but I have an allergy to DH baby making efforts. Taking hayfever tablets that say Not for pregnancy, and strong OTC pain killers but still having a bad reaction for upto 12 hours afterward. Any helpful advice.

What's baby dancing?? I don't think we have such a term on here.

Um, stop taking the anti-histamines while TTC if they're contraindicated during pregancy, and see your GP to discuss whatever specific allergic reaction you're having.
Round here it's SWI I believe (shagging with intent). Good luck...

I'm afraid you need to be clearer about what the problem is, you know, with normal anatomical terms. It's clearly about sex, but what are you allergic too? Sperm? Your DP as a whole?

thisisyesterday · 17/03/2010 21:40

sorry, you're allergic to having sex??

and you've never had this before now?

icklemoo · 17/03/2010 22:48

I don't get a reaction if we use condoms or withdrawal which has worked for the last 12 years before we wanting kids, but I have a reaction to sperm.

PS sorry for any confusion I wasn't sure how technical I should be?

hmmm, it seems so... well, so unliekly!!!

i am now off to google sperm allergies

thisisyesterday · 17/03/2010 22:54

hmm well it would appear that if you do have an allergy to semen this could lead to problems conceiving as your immune system attacks and immobilises the sperm

thisisyesterday · 17/03/2010 22:55

more info here but if you rteally think this is what the problem is then you need to see a GP

although you do need medical help there has been at least one case of someone allergic to a food reacting after sex with a partner who'd eaten it. Do you have any known food allergies?

Ask for a referral now as it will take a while to be seen.
