Anyone know a shower wash/gel suitable for child with eczema?

She is 3. Has eczema mainly on legs now and it is quite good at the moment.

I would like to wash her in the shower occasionally but would rather not use Epaderm as I think it would be awkward to use. too slippery and the bath is already all greasy so would prefer to keep it out of the shower.

I need something moisturising that won't irritate.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I've just been and bought some Aveeno for dd as she has horrifically dry skin at the mo' not sure it's actually eczema, but Aveeno always works.

Another good one is Lush Dream Cream and wash.

My son suffered from severe eczema from the age of 6 months (he is 12 now). We saw Dr Atherton at Great Ormond Street Hospital and he has written a fab book called Eczema in Childhood. I dont know how many times I have lent it to friends who have children with anything from itchy skin to full blown ecxema. My son had to be dressed in wet bandages to calm the ecxema down every night. It really does work but this needs to be done under a guidance of a doctor. He now still has dry skin but has largely grown out of it.

If the skin is that dry I wouldnt go for Burt Bees, Dove etc. They are not made for serious eczema conditions. Would recommend Dermol (nice and light) Diprobase (much heavier but really softens the skin) and Centraban (quite heavy). Really do use it many times a day (6+) and you should start to see the difference quickly.

If it gets really bad get your GP to refer you.

the method baby stuff is excellent and doesn't have any petroleum by-products in it ( major trigger for my kids)

Burts Bees smells divine but sadly brought my DS out in a rash!
