gets the all clear!!!

No apparent reaction to anything on the skin tests including shrimp!

Doctor says it is possible to have a bizarre one-off reaction to prawns and never have a reaction again so he would like us to try her with tiny amounts of prawns over the weekend. If there is no reaction (which he seems very confident of), she can eat whatever she likes in future.

On top of all that she tested negative to animals and is now asking for riding lessons

A huge thumbs-up and thank you to all the staff at the allergy clinic at Addenbrook's. They are brilliant at what they do!

Goodness, that's a surprise for you! Do be careful though, I don't want to frighten you but it is possible to have a negative skin prick test and still have an allergy, this happened to DS with egg. This was also done at Addenbrooke's, they didn't tell me about false negatives, but then DS has another, more severe allergy which means he's more likely to have other food allergies anyway. If I were you though I'd be in the hospital car park giving her prawns, if only for your own peace of mind!

Good news though, well done for getting through it, good to know she's OK for animals - start saving now!

He's given us strict instructions on how to test with prawns ourselves & it will only go in her mouth once we are sure of no skin reaction to her lips! So we'll try very carefully at the weekend and see how we go.

Personally it is such a relief to find she has no allergies. I have so many I always felt guilty that I would pass them on!

Thanks for all the support over the past few weeks Skip & others! Couldn't have understood half of it without you- this is why I love Mumsnet!!! (slushy moment )
