Our allergy consultant was really disorganised and we had to wait something like that time for both ds's results. The time they quoted though was 6-8 weeks. Personally I think even 6-8 weeks is ridiculously long as I believe it's not the labs who take a long time to do the tests, but the medics who take a long time to report them.

ugh! never understand this, skin prick tests are cheaper and give instant results, why just blood tests?

sunnyshine · 15/11/2009 22:11

i think it was because we were very definate abuot what we thought. the doctor was a bit airy fairy at the hospital as general paeds so i asked for confirmation and too see dietician as dont want dd to miss out on nutrients so young! am impatient for results though already!!

best to have both skin prick and blood tests as some people with severe allergy can have different results on the tests. Our blood tests took 4 weeks and that was because of the time in the lab. 3 months could be an overworked lab and a long queue.

think ours was about 6-8 weeks.

inconclusive too.
