We have to be safe than sorry I know, SDD2 was born with such a strong peanut allergy we need to know if DD3 has inherited the same allergy.

Wish me luck, am feeling sick at the thought.

Lulu - pass the margarita! I only have cooking sherry in the house, cannot believe how unprepared I would be for needing a glass of vino tonight!

Misdee - thanks hun, we are back on the trial and going strong again.

Beggsie - I know eh? I did wonder how 'firmly' the doc was holding her arm as they are freakishly strong for such little people, I could barely control her and he seemed to be coping, hmmmmm. Maybe its just because I am Mum and scared. I will start a new thread in a month or so when I have new news on the nut trial. All I can say is that the lead boy has eaten a snickers bar and is totally fine, he had it as his dessert after his first Chinese Take Away!! How cool huh? SDD can now eat ANY nut she likes, she is especially fond of marzipan oddly so I am going to make a really cool (see buy a really cool) Xmas cake this year so she can actually have a slice for the first time ever! It also means we do not have to rush to the shops in October to buy the only 'nut free' xmas pudding on the shelf! Mojito on its way honey !

The oldest cat - Thank you so much for your best wishes. Took your advice and took choocy buttons and tried to sing during the wrestling match which was the skin pricks, however, in my stress and upset the only thing I could think of was 'if you are happy and you know it clap your hands' - LOL, I swear she looked at me as if to say 'you think I am anywhere near happy you idiot woman!!'

She is now sleeping, aaaaannnnd relax...

Hi BBF So glad it was the right result. Tears are natural reaction to stress, once you've recovered from the stress you'll be bouncing

BlueBumedFly · 20/10/2009 20:01

Thanks tatt. Feeing better tonight, just want to get to the weekend and do the peanut butter lip test. Dd was over sensitive apparently today at nursery but guess this is a direct result of such a stressy day yesterday. She is exhausted so I maybe did not realize how much it would affect her. Poor pickle.

Hi BBF, been following your updates, so pleased to hear results were negative, you and your dd are very brave. Congratulations!!! and also I am so looking forward to updates on the trial, when is the month off nuts? and what happens then?

girlsyearapart · 21/10/2009 07:56

Wine is the way forward I feel..

Squidmission · 21/10/2009 11:09

Yay! thats great news. It must be such a relief.

Madre - not sure yet, might get Xmas out of the way as she has had so much to deal with recently. Once she has had a month off all nuts, all nut derivatives, traces etc. they do another set of bloods to look at IgE, then another nut challenge, they work her back on for another set period. Each time they 'washout' they hope that they become less and less allergic until one day they will not have to take the daily dose.

Girls - wine on its way. DD is super tired, think it maybe a reflection on how stressed she was on Monday, she is very out of sorts. We are off to see friends to a house she has never been to before, in a proper bed, with cats in the house (which she hates).... eeeek, hope she raises her game and copes

Squid - cool eh?

Once I have done the peanut butter test on Sunday I will let you know how she is!! EEEEEEK part of me wants to do this in A&E car park!!
