Hayfever treatments for BFing mum and grumpy 8 mth DS?

Have escaped most of this year but currently in a bit of a state (red eyes and nose, sore throat, itchy ears, etc. etc.). DS (8 mths) is similarly affected. I feel bad for giving him rubbish genes.

Please tell me there's something I can take... And is there anything I can do for DS too?

Can't help on your BF question. Or other one, but would be keen to know if people have suggestions for your baby.
My 16 mth old twins have just been given anti histamine for hay fever and I feel out of my knowledge zone. Is there anything more natural we can give little ones? Are there any side effects to anti- histamines?

not sure about anti-histamines for under ones though (I'm sure piriton syrup for example is for 12months plus), but have a word with your pharmacist or GP as it may be available on prescription, but not OTC.

I'll no doubt get flamed for suggesting this, by various anti homeopathy posters ! But I'm finding the Nelsons Homeopathic Pollenna is taking the edge off my hayfever at the moment, and homeopathy is safe for babies too. fine during bfing also.

Will look for the Pollenna too. Frankly, although I'm not generally a one for homeopathy if it works I don't care how!

VG hope your twins are feeling a bit better. Someone at work suggested today putting a smidge of vaseline under DS's nose to catch the pollen. Might help a wee bit?

I heard this from a friend on FB and she swore it worked. Cider vinegar, honey and boiling water. Haven't tried it myself but I guess nothing harmful in there so worth a try?
