I cut out gluten a few years ago (not strictly) and never thought I was a coeliac but having chatted to a dietician mate she said I may as well get tested cos if I am, then I'll get lots more help and support than I am now. Furry muff, I thought, I'll do that.

But I have to eat it for 6 weeks before the blood test otherwise the reaction doesn't show up. I have been eating it for four weeks now and I just dunno if I can carry on - today I have (again) major stomach cramps, diarrhoea, a stinging headache, am woozy and dizzy and all I want to do is sleep, but I can't because my belly hurts and I keep needing the loo

Thank god dd2 is at nursery - first day today - she cried when I left but I am simply grateful that she isn't here...

I FEEL SOOO SHIT!

Please say awww and stuff...

Awww sorry no ones said that yet. Poor you.

xx

God, 6 weeks?? Poor you.

That would seriously make me think twice about being tested (although if you test + there will be some things you can get on prescription).

I know wheat makes me feel crap, I don't need to put myself through that much pain for the proof! My symptoms on wheat are exactly like yours (although not in pregnancy it seems, she says, tucking into a big bowl of muesli...).

Hang in there, it'll be worth it.

you totally have my symptathy. am in your shoes in fact.

was tested the day before good friday. stopped eating gluten directly after it. started feeling better. loads of test results lost. am just off to gp to collect form for re-do. am not happy, and very crampy.

they have told me i don't need to do full 6 weeks though, as only a few weeks since stopped. would, like duchesse, kind of avoid this whole thing tbh, but because my immune systemj is popping up so many disorders since childbearing started, i need to pin down which ones i've got and which ones not.

consider getting test done early?

I didn't realise anyone had responded! It's happened once more since then.. I've realised I need to have a break from the wheat for a couple of days when I Get to this point. Glad it's not just me anyway. That's weird, duchesse, my symptoms got a lot worse in pregnancy. Funny eh?

sympathies merryberry, how annoying...
