wheat / Gluten free advice pls

If my DS5 is allergic to Wheat and Gluten (quite badley) is barley ok?

Everything sems to have it in. He can tolerate some oaty things but o more than that.

No...barley has gluten in it. If he is badly allergic to gluten he should not have wheat, oats, rye and barley. Has he been tested for coeliac diease then? The coeliac society can point you in the right direction re what he should and shouldn't eat.

Only the blood test. Because I refused when he was 10 months old as he had been thru the mill weaning. Both my mum and I are coeliac though. They have rast? and skin pricked him and reacts adley to most things!!
They suspect he can tolerate small amounts of gluten but absolutly no wheat.

He managed to grab a wheat crunchie at the school dinner table and threw up over mary shortly after!!!

He is under two paeds and dietician but i thought it had gluten in it.

if he can tolerate small amounts of gluten have you looked at the digestive enzymes like Peptizyde? They would at least help with the possible contamination of oats. Something to ask the dietician about?
