Milk allergy but tolerates cheese and yogurt??

DD2 (8 months) had skin prick tests this week. She is allergic to fresh milk and cooked milk (although to a lesser extent to cooked milk). I had kind of suspected this, due to a couple of "unexplained" allergic reactions, but still feel a bit low about it.

Anyway, I had been giving her yogurt and cheese. She doesn't develop hives, although she possibly gets runnier poos (but has been teething, so who knows?).

Do I continue to give yogurt and cheese? Does this risk sensitising her to them? Is it best to keep giving small amounts every other day to build up a tolerance? Obviously, I will watch for any digestive symptoms and cut them out if she does get a bad bum.

I intend to keep BF until she is a year plus. After then can she go straight soya milk or does it have to be soya formula? She did react slightly to soya, but

Hi, we have similar issues.

I saw my GP and he suggested I use soya for substitute for in cereals, cooking etc. He said I could keep using cheese, yoghurt if DS seems tolerate it OK and he also said I could still drink cows milk myself as BF as DS did not have any bad reactions when exclusively BF although I think I may just limit my consumption.

Let m eknow how you get on as nice to hear someone same boat!

oh and he preferred not to send for skin tests yet and to wait see how goes. I think my son OK cooked milk too.
