Chronic Sinusitus

I am a 36 year old woman who has suffered with Sinusitus for about 5 years! The first case I had was so bad I had to be admitted to hospital and be put on an IV drip to fight the infection. Since then I get about 4 cases a year which require time off work. I have been refered to a specialistin the pass who sent me away with a Beconase spray and Hayfever tablets to keep the Sinusitus at bay which it sometimes does! I'm now suffering again, this time i have had 2 lots of antibiotics which havent worked, i am still in lots of pain, suffering with vertigo, am taking stemetil for the sick and dizzyness. The doctors have refered me again and I have to wait till nov 11th for an opinion. In the meantime I have decided to try the homeopathic route and am taking a product called Sinus Wars, this has made the symptoms worse which it did say it would do.
I have now been off work for nearly 3 weeks and am at the end of my tether, and feeling very low!

Anybody with similar symptoms out there please help!

Carmenere so sorry to hear what you're going through- hope it is resolved soon.

Carmenere my friend had an MRI scan for the same reason and it turned out to be benign cysts that were causing the problem and she has just had a small routine op to remove them.

I used to steam my head with Balsams (I think) gross black stuff (like marmite). Put a spoonful in a jug with boiling water, then lean over with a towel over your head. I cant remember if it actually helped though!

Having your sinuses drained is unpleasant. They enlarge the drainage holes and stuff gauze into your sinuses. Then they pull out the gauze (which is really gruesome). I know it is not considered very clinically effective (used to be a fairly common operation, like tonsil removal) but it certainly worked for me.

Nooka

Yes I had that done about 5 years ago, maybe I need it doing again!

Five years is not good! I had mine done 13 years ago with no problems since (occasional ear infections, which might or might not be related). Bad luck!

may just be coincidence but I know someone with bad sinus problems who has been better (not totally well but less frequent problems) since he stopped eating wheat. It is also worth trying medinose (good price at www.chemistdirect.co.uk/)or the cheap Lloyds equivalent.

Has anyone noticed a problem in the seasons when crops are being sprayed? or when they are harvested and prepared for market? Some of the chemicals they use can't be washed off. That can't be a good thing.
You are supposed to be eating those dark berries. You get polyphenols from them? Isn't that correct?
Speaking from the perspective of being allergic to everything under the sun...you can't just cut some things out of your diet completely. They are too important. Isn't it B12 that you get from blueberries?
This allergy thing makes me feel like I'm supposed to be on another planet.

I have had sinusitus for about 6 months and have had moderate dizziness and nausea. What I find the most annoying is the loss of hearing in one ear and raging tinitus which is hard to cope with when you have a six year old son(very noisy!!)I have just seen a consultant for it as I have several lumps up my nostrils which he thinks are swellings.Has anyone had these?

Chronic sinus problems are hell. I have been for surgery 6 months ago where all the infected tissue was removed from my sinuses. 3 months after the surgery i began to feel stuffy and blocked again. I tried sinus wars8 and sinus war5. they have been working great for me. i have just finished the medicine and am ok now.

i still use the netti pot, take my vitamins and "try to" stick to my diet.
