DS ate some egg on Weds, still has a rash. Is this normal?

He had a small bit of cake on Weds that I didn't realise had egg in. (He has tested positive for an egg allergy related to his eczema.) On Thursday morning he had bright red cheeks and a pink rash all over his torso.

I took him to the doctor who said it was a food allergy reaction and to give him Piriton, which we have done. But he still has the rash. He doesn't have a temperature and seems fine in himself, eating normally etc. Could a reaction to something he ate two days ago last this long? He is 18mo.

My ds has an initial strong reaction - hives, vomitting, red and itchy eyes.

Over next couple of weeks he has a very feint rash (bumpy skin almost) that works it's way down his body. It doesn't seem to itch though, luckily.
