dd 11.5 months has always shown signes of

lactose intolerance but was never been

diagnosed due to g.p always telling me to

consult my HV, HV just says she'll grow out of

it, considering dd had really bad diarrea, at

7 months I changed her formula milk to soy

formula and cut out dairy products. within a

day or so her poo became more solid and less

fequant. Anyway Im unsure on what milk to put

her on as there seems so many different

types and brands. Could anyone recomend a

brand as I dont really want to see HV as I

feel Im not taken seriously. x

p.s sorry for my terriable spelling

dirtylilminx (love the name!)
my dd has eczema which is aggravated by anything with lactose in it, particularly milk. We tried all the different soy/rice milks available and either she wouldn't drink them (taste) or they made no difference. We now give her Lactofree milk (available in Sainsburys and all other big supermarkets). We haven't actually cut out all dairy, but we do notice a slight flare-up if she has ice-cream or yoghurt.
She is 2 though, so if your dd hasn't yet started on cow's milk, then is this what you mean, you are stopping formula? Then I would recommend the Lactofree milk
Good luck, I know how frustrating it is.

hi annie - ds1 (2.1) is also on lactofree and it seems to help his snuffliness at night! we are slowly reintroducing cows milk in the day and it doesn't seem to be doing too much harm yet
