Hey , just need some advice . My child has an egg allergy , they has some eczema as a baby and that recovered after being put on cow milk protein allergy milk . First egg reaction was when 8/9 months , then first big reaction at 10 months . Since then we have stuck with dried egg products , only smallish amounts never a whole amount yet as she recently got a red patch on chin and cheek so will probably stick with the amount without reaction .
however what I need advice on is peanut butter and nuts in general ! They have tried peanut butter a couple of times but never a big amount and when trying to offer more it gets refused , I tried it weetabix and they nearly finished a whole bowl before going ‘ there’s something In there , I don’t like it ‘
. could this be an allergy thing or a preference ?
fine with almonds as had almond yogurts and butter , quite enjoys them . Nutella we tried a couple of times but again doesn’t seem to fancy it yet .
i just want to know am I doing okay as a parent ? Sometimes I feel like I’m just failing her , I’m anxious but I try to overcome it all so they’re okay with these foods later on in life . Has anyone else only tried allergens a couple of times and children have been okay ? I feel like I’m not doing enough but honestly peanuts and nuts in general are just not really in my diet .
