My youngest has just been out in the garden with me and his eyes have become quite swollen, he is coughing, sneezing and has a runny nose. I think he is suffering from hayfever and wonder if any of you have any natural remedies that I could try before I nip off to Boots?

elderflower cordial or local honey might do the trick. Vaseline around the nose holes should stop the pollen being breathed in aswell. Poor mite, I bet he's feeling horrid.

Thankyou ever so much avenanap, I will nip to asda and get some elderflower cordial. I assume it has to be 'local' produced honey rather than rowse or whatever?

Yes poor little fella...his eyes are so swollen.

Local honey's best as it has local pollen, which is what he's reacting to. Give him the cordial first thing in the morning. I use it but I'm getting sick of the taste. He could do with some eye drops as they will be dry and sore if he's been rubbing them. The pharmacy should be able to help. I hope he's feeling better soon.
