I exclusively breastfeed and I am cutting out soy from my diet because LO may be allergic. Since I'm new to this I still don't understand what I can and cannot have. I have been having lentils and my baby is getting loose mucusy stools.

Lentils and are pulses.Chickpeas are Legumes. Soy is specifically soy if you are trying to avoid that ingredient, so, for instance. Tofu, miso paste, Soy sauce, of course. I think you'd need to check ingredients, but you're safe with chickpeas and lentils

Not related to soya but could be an additional allergy. My daughter has 20 food allergies including some legumes and lentils are part of this family.

You need to start a food diary and list everything! It can be 3 days from you eating something and having a reaction. We started looking at legumes when my daughter reacted to me eating baked beans but it turned out to be a nightshade allergy and she was reacting to the tomato sauce. She can't have pea protein however and reacts to lentils or fava bean protein when they have been in products that she eats daily. She's fine when she has them infrequently
