Ds2 had his coeliac blood test today

Such a lovely doc. He listened carefully and we never felt rushed. He said it was a shame that our gp hadn't referred him 3 years ago -ds2 had been off wheat for 3 years, but we reintroduced it in the New Year to get him tested. He hoped as we do that it is a wheat intolerance which hopefully he might grow out of.

They took blood for wheat allergy and coeliac and a blood count. Have to wait 2-3 weeks for results and keep him on wheat during that time.

Poor little ds2 started crumbling as the second tube was being filled with blood, but is now relishing telling the story to squeamish ds1

Good luck with those results.

yes good luck (my OH is coeliac and ds2 is diabetic - there's a link there somewhere!)

Nat1H · 22/04/2008 21:29

The link is that they are both auto-immune diseases! I have both coeliac disease and diabetes (and vitiligo, which is another AI disease). Basically, the body takes exception to something that is of no harm and fights it.
Good Luck with the results. Has going back onto wheat made him ill at all?

...and I have oral lichen planus as well as CD - another auto-immune problem.
