Cows milk allergy or heat rash?

My 7 week old son just got this rash (tiny red dots) all over his body that appeared out of nowhere one morning. I had eaten something with cows milk in it the night before. My son is fed with breast milk and a cow milk free formula, so the only cows milk in his diet would be traces of it in the breastmilk he is given. He is also a bit gassy and has diarrhea on and off. Does anyone recognize these red dots? They make his skin extremly dry. I’m not sure if they look like an allergy or if it could be a heat rash? Any inputs/experiences are welcome!

It looks like milk rash or eczéma. It looks very familiar, I think one of mine had something similar and it was not serious but you should go to the doctor.

Check by looking through a glass that the rash fades when you put a little pressure on it. If it stays red go to à and e.

How's your little one doing @Mary9104 ? Rashes can be very worrying! Oat baths are very good if it seems itchy. Put some oats in an old but clean sock, tie the end up and put it in the bathwater, if you don't know about it already it makes à very natural moisturise and soothes the skin.

Could be heat rash. I took my son to the GP tho king it could be cmpa. Go said babies skins need to get used to the outside world and it could be anything but would disappear and sure enough within a day or two it did go.

Thank you for checking in on us! My son is doing good but the rashes are still there unfortunately, we will try the oat bath tomorrow and see if it suits the skin. If not, I might need to go dairy free to see if it clears up which will hopefully help unless it dissapears on its own.

@Mary9104 I hope you manage to work out what it is! Gas and runny poos are pretty normal. I used to drink à spécial breastfeeding tea that had things lile fennel and fenugrec seeds in to help not only my digestion but the babies. It can definitely come through your milk as can lactose.

Have you changed your washing powder/liquid at all? Could also be a heat rash if it's warm where you live at the moment....
