Long post, so bear with me but just trying to write everything down.

Got our two cats coming up to 3 years ago. I’ve always coughed a bit, but the last year has been much worse.

Symptoms:
Persistent cough which is almost like choking
Known for my coughing - always happens when I get in a car with air conditioning, after a lot of talking, more inside than out, after others use aerosols nearby
Occasional inability to breathe in during these coughing / choking fits. Can breathe out but not in, lungs feel restricted
Last few months, intermittent feeling like a ball in my windpipe - hurts to swallow, comes and goes

Been to GP and had asthma test which has shown not asthma and has ruled that out. GP did say my nasal airways are inflamed a bit so thinks could be allergy. Gave me steroid spray but hasn’t really helped.

I’m going back to GP but just after advice from others as to similar experiences.

I’m fed up of always having to carry cough sweets / water and just constantly explaining it isn’t contagious but I always cough.

Do not have runny eyes or excessive sneezing or any skin rashes.

Thanks for reading.

Hey did you ever find out what this was? I am in the same boat as you? Waiting back for a chest x ray result?
