He is allergic to peanuts.
Hav given him egh before and he just spits it out, today he ate a little and in about a minute he was scratching under his eye and trying to scratch his tongue.
I gave him piriton straight away but small hives have formed under his one eye and are getting worse and spreading to his ear.
He seems fine, is playing and chatting but I am worried,
this has never happened before, will it get worse? Should it be ok.....
have phoned NHS direct and they are calling me back

i wonder if babies are trying to tell you something when they refuse a food... my dd ate egg yolks (and loved them) for a week or so, then one day vomited a few hours after eating them, and refused to eat them after that. i thought maybe she didn't like them anymore, so i decided to try whole scrambled egg. she wouldn't eat them, kept spitting them out, then a few minutes later she got hives all over her face! turns out she's allergic to egg whites.

Yes my 8mo old boy is open to all new tastes but yesterday didn't even open his mouth when he smelt his dinner (potato, spinach and haddock).... I got him to try some anyway and then he came up in hives all around mouth and neck where he'd smeared it. Reckon they know when something isn't right for them!

my son used to sniff food before rejecting it.

later on after allergy testing , I could pick out why he refused certain meals!!

How did it go? I hope it stayed as a mild reaction. Worht mentioning to the allergician in your next appointment.
