Dairy Free Easter eggs

Looking for ideas on what to get for DT1 for easter- can you get lacto free easter eggs?

I find that we want to get an egg, so do grandparents, the school want one to give him too . . . it gets a bit monotonous if every egg is a Bart Simpson one.

So what I do is to get one of those mugs-with-an-easter-egg sets, eat chuck the milk chocolate egg away and replace with one of the kinnerton eggs. They are exactly the right size. So he gets a slightly "bigger" present from us and doesn't say "oh, not another one of these" to OUR egg.

Hobbycraft sell the empty plastic easter eggs you can do an easter egg hunt with, they can be filled with: dairy free chocs, little chicks, other sweets, clues to find big easter eggs, a pound coin, any other treats that'll fit. They love it.

Hurrah! Just been on the phone to Thorntons. They have dairy free easter eggs in stock! They sell a dark chocolate egg which has no milk ingredients (but may contain traces due to being made in the factory wih other milk products). These can be iced with your child's name. I will have 2 of my own happy bunnies now on easter morning!

Thornton's icing (that they write names with) contains milk. Please watch out. There are soya chocolate bunnies (ie not bitterly dark) in Waitrose.

I have just ordered chocolate bunnies and eggs in baskets / cellophane from D and D chocolates online... will let you know how they are when (if?) they arrive!

The D and D Chocolates arrived within 4 days of ordering, they look fantastic, a laptop sized basket filled with eggs, bunnies, bars of Dairy-free chocolate and wrapped in cellophane and ribbons, can't wait to spoil my daughter.
Contains a nut warning but the chocolate is made in separate area and separate mould.

Just another idea - instead of chocolate. I was in John Lewis at the weekend and they had bags of pink bunny shaped marshmallows and a little set of jelly sweets, shaped like chicks and nests with small "eggs" in. I got my dd a selection of these. The problem with much of the dairy free choc is that it is bitter.

Last year, Sainsbury's did bags of jelly and marshmallow shapes (chicks, bunnies etc) all individually wrapped and we did a great treasure hunt with them. I haven't checked in Sainsbos this year so shall take a look soon.

I have bought DS a dark chocolate Thornton's egg and a bunny from Sainsbury's.Both contain soya.

I did also find when I was looking in TK Maxx a dark chocolate Lindt bunny that was dairy free.

Waitrose do dairy free Easter Eggs. They are from the Kinnerton range, which produce egg free, dairy free, and nut free foods. They even have them themed with Simpsons and Winnie The pooh

i really object to paying over the odds for something that isn't actually made of chocolate iyswim?

ds2 and ds3 will happily eat dark chocolate though, so we generally just get them one of those

lindt do dark chocolate rabbits etc which are dairy free

last year sainsburys had an own-brand dark chocolate egg for £1.99

oooh also, i have been discovering this christmas how easy it is to make your own chocolates

so if you buy egg moulds you could make your own out of either dairy-free milk chocolate or dark chocolate
