Normal newborn stuff, or cows' milk protein allergy?

I'm wondering whether my baby is just fussy, or whether he may have a cows' milk protein allergy. He's a month old, exclusively breastfed now, and his symptoms started a bit after 2 weeks old.

👶🏻 He has spots on his face, neck, and chest (you can kinda see in photo) but I'm not sure if that's normal baby acne or a CMPA rash - the spots don't seem to itch or bother him. This started at about 3 weeks old.

👶🏻 He has dyschezia symptoms, straining and grunting and crying for ages trying to do a poo - although he does do a normal number of poos a day, and they seem a normal colour and consistency.

👶🏻 He often has a good sleep during the day, but at nights he grunts and squeals and grumbles the whooooole time and it's impossible to sleep through.

👶🏻 He has colic / wind symptoms in the evening, hours of crying even when he's fed, changed, and burped.

👶🏻 Just the last couple of days he's starting vomiting quite a bit after eating.

Just wondering whether people thought this was normal baby stuff, or CMPA.

The vomiting could be reflux , as for the rest it doesn't sound like how my baby presented with cmpa. He screamed for 16 hours a day and his poo smelled like cheese and he was very snotty and mucusy, he also had gunky eyes which cleared in a week once we stopped dairy.
My baby had no rash.

Dyschezia is a normal development phase which all babies experience.

What is his poo like? Is he ff or bf?

Ok, thanks, my boy doesn't seem like that. His eyes are ok and his poo just seems the standard chicken korma and doesn't smell of much.

His poo is ok I think. It usually looks like korma sauce, sometimes with a bit of green though. Sometimes it's more liquid with bits in. Doesn't smell of much.

He's breastfed.

Does his poo contain much mucus? It will be shiny.

The good thing with bf is you can ‘easily’ remove milk from your diet.

To be honest the only way you will know is if you continue to breast feed, to take dairy out of your diet for at least two weeks. That is how long it takes to leave the body.

My son is now 10 and carries epi pens and I breast fed. Other than just being small for his age and reflux, he had no symptoms until we weaned him at 6 months.
