Need hope for outgrowing asthma/RAD

My 4 year old has developed cough variant asthma since starting school and it can get quite serious at times. She uses salbutamol and pulmicort for the ongoing cough almost 8 months now. We have tried montelukast too. Her ped once told me that many children outgrow this form of asthma later in life. I am feeling very down seeing her suffer and have to take medication on an ongoing basis. Can anyone offer some hope by sharing incidences of their loved ones outgrowing this diagnosis? I would love to hear them.

Hi, we are just overcoming another nasty cold and upping our steroid and ventolin usage. Does anyone know if anything can be done to lighten or get rid of allergy rings/shiners around the eyes?

Yes, get rid of the allergen. Has he been tested already?

Ask for a referral to allergy clinic with a paed consultant for skin prick tests. Knowing what was causing the reaction was key to reducing medication and incidents.

Mold, smoke, dust (we have a lot of sandstorms in sharjah). Surprisingly animal dander is not a concern. I have noticed cold weather, or sudden environment changes (cold to hot) etc also to be a cause of concern. Less sleep and she will fall ill instantly.
