The advice we've been given recommends hypoallergenic bed covers but does anyone have any recommendations? Or any other advice in general? Feeling a bit grumpy about it all!

I have an allergy to it but it's not severe. I use plain cotton bedding with hypoallergenic quilt and pillows. I tend to get whichever one is on offer. I was the bedding at sixty degrees once a week and hoover the mattress before I put the bedding back on. That seems to help Smile

Get a dustmite cover for the mattress, pillows and duvet. Buy cotton bedding and wash it at 60

I have a severe dust mite allergy, I keep it under control with cotton bedding washed at 60 weekly, duvets and pillows washed every month and my mattress has a dust mite protector on it also. The protector is by an american company called clean rest bit of a nuisance to get in the UK but 100% worth the expense. Since getting it I've been able to come off my very strong allergy tablets and steroid inhaler and cope with over the counter ones. It covers the mattress completely rather than just like a sheet

Just to add vacuum the mattress top regularly.

Hi - I was recently introduced to a new company which provides a mattress and pillow sanitising service in your home. It's called Cleanmybed and they provide a service which hoovers your mattress, pillows and toppers with a medical grade HEPA filtration hoover followed by a UVC germicidal light which effectively kills 99.97% of all bacteria in your bed and removes all allergen triggers including dust mite faecal matter which is the main cause of dust mite allergies. Not sure if they have an Ambassador in your area but worth looking up and seeing if you can arrange an appointment. cleanmybed.com/en-gb/
