Hives / sores / red marks around the waist area

We were on holiday last week in Tunisia and the Pampers nappies out there are made of slightly weird plasticky stuff. My DD seemed to develop round red marks around the back of her waist which I am not sure whether to attribute to these nappies but which don't seem to be going away now that we're back and using normal nappies. The marks look rather raw and sore. She's got the odd big red mark in the middle of her back as well too and a few smaller ones emerging on her tummy. Anyone else ever had experience of this? Thanks!

Flea bites?

Nice! Possibly - I hadn't thought of that...euw...

They do sound like bites of some sort - mozzies maybe?

I think if you have recently been somewhere foreign you need them checked out at the GP's. It could be something unusual?

sounds like a trip to the doctor. Could be any of the diseases that cause a rash.

My son had a reaction like that last year, his was from the floats that he used in the swimming pool.

Both my DD had reactions to Huggies and Pampers at different times. Seems to vary from pack to pack. Maybe try a different brand for a while to see if it calms down. (The red marks had definite straight edges along the nappy line.)

do they look anything like chicken pox spots? DD2 had shingles when she was only 3, had a rash like this around her middle, but she was quite miserable prior to the rash.
