Hi can anyone give any advice for an 18 month old who I think may have celiac disease? He has had watery stools for about 2 weeks now but has only been sick once during that time. His belly is bloated and hard when he needs to go. I have also seen undigested oaty products in his nappies. He is fine in himself which makes me think he isn’t unwell. I have called the doctors and they have said as long as he is eating and drinking plenty (which he is) then it’s nothing to be concerned about. I am going to start a food diary for him But was wondering if anyone can give me any advice for the time being

Celiac disease often results in bloody and mucus filled stools at that age and really severe symptoms including multiple deficiencies doesn’t it? If he doesn’t fit that profile you might struggle to get a diagnosis. Plus if his symptoms are recent it could be a bug or even a temporary form of lactose intolerance caused by a stomach bug - try reducing milk and upping live yoghurt to see if that makes a difference?

Thank you! He won’t eat many dairy products, he only really ate yoghurts which he is rejecting at the moment.
