Has Neocate made anyone else's baby more sick?

Just trying out Neocate for non-dairy, mild reflux 6 month DD and she's being more sick than she was on Soya. Only 2nd feed so feel I should try a little longer to make it a proper test. Has this happened to anyone else? She was bf 'til 5.5 months, then discovered dairy thing when introducing formula.

oh hard luck, how difficult. Ds had Neocate for a while because of irritated gut lining, even though breastfed. It seemed to help. But i would try a bit longer. Definitely contact doc if she is still bringing most of it up after a day or two.

Thanks ruty. Am just trying it to rule out the possibility that she's developing an allergy to soya aswell, but now suspect it's reflux. Before we visit GP, does anyone know if it's foolish not to treat the reflux if I can cope with it as it is? She is thriving.

...but now suspect it's 'the' reflux...

i don't know much about reflux. wonder if it is worth posting on the 'Breast and Bottlefeeding' topic, maybe there'll be some over there with experience.

Neocate is quite thin compared with other milks, and if your dc has reflux, then it will come up more easily. It's fine to leave reflux as long as she isn't fussing or arching during feeds. If she is, she's in pain and will need ranitidine or something similar to reduce the acid content of her stomach. Infant gaviscon would help to thicken the Neocate if that helps.

That does help lots...thanks hobnob. She's not in pain during feeds and just carries on with what she's doing whilst being sick...nice!
