After DS1s reaction to baked beans on Monday I took him to the GP today. GP says that because he now seems to be reacting to a few things (not all food reactions) then he needs to see a paediatric allergy consultant.
We had to speak to the receptionist to sort the referral out, apparently you can chose what hospital you want to be seen at from a choice of 4 hospitals. This is how they organize referrals now, for his tonsillectomy in Feb we got to choose from North Staffs, Burton, Birmingham and Manchester.
For allergy referrals, we got the choice of .........Leicester Royal Infirmary!!! We live in Stoke on Trent, Leicester is at least 90 mins away by car and I don't drive. Obviously DH will have to have time off work to take us but it will be a right pain.
Has anyones DC been to Leicester for allergy testing? How long did they have to wait? I'm thinking if Leicester is the only hospital in the Midlands to do paediatric allergy testing then it's going to be a very long wait!!

I know someone whose child has been to LRI for allergy testing, and I don't recall her waiting a very long time but I'm afraid I can't give you figures.

I will ask her next time I see her and get back to this thread.
