Air purifier for allergies (acariens and cats)

Just wondering if anyone uses an air purifier for allergies? I'm looking for something for DS1 who is 15 and who really struggles with allergies to acariens and cats. There seems to be a massive range of prices/options and I'm really hoping that someone might have one that they could recommend (or warn me off).

Not sure on air purifiers sorry but have often thought of getting one.

At the moment I just cope with lots of hoovering, damp dusting and getting rid of things from the home.

My DS has asthma which is triggered by dust allergy among other things. He has an air purifier in his room which is on constantly but seems to help.

Which one does he have Willow? Does it take put pollen too?

He has the Bionaire BAP600 Compact. Yes it takes pollen too. What I liked about it was that the filter can be taken out and cleaned. Also, it's powerful enough to clear the size of his room but small enough to fit on a bedside table. It was about £100 when I bought it about 3-4 years ago so not cheap but has been on constantly since then with no problems.

Thanks Willow.
