that the official advice to avoid peanuts during pregnancy and bfing is apparently completely wrong?!!

Apparently this is more likely to make children allergic, not less.

There's a link here

I wish I'd known that 2 years ago.
(she says as she comes to the end of pregnancy and BFing while studiously avoiding peanuts to protect her DD)

However, maybe you all knew that already and it's just me that's completely out of touch.

tatt...I think that was what the scinetist was working on, the one in teh documentary...he was trying to find out why they worked and how it worked and what part of it was needed to make it work...certainly worthwile research that hopefully will get us further with the treatment of allergies...

I had a thing for peanut butter on toast during both my pregnancy, this was 10 and 12 years ago before they gave warnings.

My DS ate peanut butter find until he was nearly 5 but had a weekend where he had seseme seeds on Friday and threw up everywhere, then on sunday he had pecan pie and his face swelled up and he couldn't stop sneezing. After that he had mild reactions to peanut butter.
His allergy tests showed he was allergic to peanuts but not as badly as tree nuts

My dd has never had any allergic reactions.

My husband is allergic to nuts and lots of other things and I have hayfever and eczema so we are obviously an atopic family.
