anyone with a strong fh of allergies, asthma, excema etc out there at the moment? need some ideas for ds's tea other than potatoe and veg. have benn given some recipes using rice, ie rissotto type thing. he needs something quite filling, ie carb at teatime. Also how can you add calories to a meal, if not using cheese or butter yet??

Alibo, I'm not sure why you are avoiding dairy if your ds is on standard formula. Anyway, my ds can't have any dairy but the substitute products we use that he likes are Alpro yoghurts peach and strawberry, they come in a 4 pack, Alpro plain natural yoghurt in a big tub. We get these from the supermarket. He loves Alpro vanilla desserts which taste just like custard. I have to get these from the healthfood shop and the good thing about them is that they are ambient so no need to refrigerate. If you go to their website here you can get details of their full range and stockists. HTH

alibo.. sorry, only just checking this thread again... I give the Yeo Valley live organic yogs to dd.... dont think they bother her (and they are yummy). Not sure of the science of it all, but think live yog is beneficial to the develpment of the gut. I have a feeling that it is gluton that is giving my dd problems as we are noticing some improvements lately... I gave her oats for a while not realising they also contain gluton, have now stopped and she seems to be a bit better with wind problems (although still has trouble). Hoping to get a referral to a nutritionalist...
