Eczema, aptimel pepti 1, how long does it take?

Hi,
My baby has been suffering with bad skin since for about a month (he is 3 months now). We went to Dr when it first started who gave us Cetraben and Daktarin.
This didn't really make a difference and the Daktarin seemed to aggravated it.
It then spread over his body.
So I went back last Thurs to another GP and she said possible milk allergy. So she put us on Aptimel Pepti 1.
However we're 2 days days down and his skin seems worse. My question is, how long would it take to clear up his skin if it was a milk allergy? And is it normal to get worse before it gets better?
My poor baby looks so bad and his face is so itchy. Sad

I don't think it should get worse. Pepti 1 isn't dairy free so it might be worth giving it a couple of days and going back and asking for a dairy free formula. Your GO should really refer you to the allergy clinic and a Paediatric Dietician too.

It does take about 2wks for CMP to clear out, but symptoms should ease over that time.

But if this formula isn't helping, you can ask for one that's more hydrolysed (protein is broken down). Not sure on UK brands, but our DD was ok with a partially hydrolysed one, so we didn't have to try Neocate, a completely hydrolysed one.
