Advice: do you think we’re heading towards an epipen?

So last night we ended up in A and E as ds2 had a major reaction to MIL’s cat. He has a viral wheeze when he has a cough, and tends to get chesty when exposed to cat hair. This is normally controlled by piriton.

Anyway, last night, he went within twenty minutes of walking in the house. I’ve never seen him go that quickly, he was clutching his throat and his eyes were puffy. I chucked some antihistamine down his throat and hoofed it to A and E. He seemed to settle once out of the house, and was fine (well his sats were crap when we got there, but sorted).

Anyway, the dr strongly advised an allergy clinic due to the severity of his reaction. I’m a freaking HCP and I really thought I’d have to ring an ambulance.

Do you think they’d prescribe an epipen?

Does he have asthma? Maybe he needs a reliever inhaler.
