What where your symptoms before celiac diagnosis?

Awaiting blood results for celiac disease, but just wondering what other people's symptoms were before diagnosis? Where did/do you get your stomach pain?

Probably not much help as I didn't have any tummy issues. My main symptom was fatigue and I was so run down I was catching every cold/illness going and couldn't shake them off for weeks. I also had a lot of joint pain which disappeared when I went gluten free.

Hope you get your results soon x

Hi @sarah8484 how did you get on with your results? What were your symptoms? I'm having the test tomorrow x

My only real symptom was anaemia that no amount of iron tablets seemed to be able to fix.

Troels · 13/01/2020 17:30

Anemia that iron tabs couldn't fix here too, and Elevated Liver enzymes for no apparent reason. Nothing gastric, a constant low level constipation , was about it.
I'm more sensitive to Gluten now I'm gluten free, and I get a very sore mouth if I eat gluten.

Not much, or so I thought. Mainly IBS though (TMI warning) I did have bouts of anal leakage. I also had/have (it won't fix) some loss of sensation in my feet which I assumed was inherited but I got sent to a neurologist about it and he did lots of blood tests to try to indentify the cause and coeliac was what came back.

Also my folic acid levels were off scale low.
