Gluten free in Spain

DS has fairly recently gone gluten free and we're off to Costa Blanca next week. Does anyone know how well Spanish supermarkets are generally stocked with gluten free products? I'm mainly concerned about bread (only white acceptable) and pasta. I thought I'd pack some pittas but was hoping not to have to take anything else

Spain is brilliant for gluten free. The main supermarket chain is mercadona and has so much gluten free. It is far better than U.K. supermarkets. Spar is also very good.

They don’t tend to have a gluten free aisle but their gf products are just on a module in the normal aisles.
So head to the bread aisle for gf bread etc

They label sin-gluten, and it is really well labelled. Enjoy.

Restaurants also very good, all the ones we were in in Spain had excellent allergy labelling and staff were very switched on.
Have fun!

Sin gluten is easy to buy.

However it ain't cheap! It's way more expensive than U.K.
last year I paid 4€ for a pack of 4 rolls!

However there general diet is more gluten free than ours (rice/chicken/Spanish omelette) so is easy to eat out.

A lot of El Cortes Ingles department stores have a free from section close to the food hall.

Generally, supermarkets are well stocked.

It's really easy. Just lots of lovely salads and fresh fish or meats

Just eat rice or potato based meals, no need for additive filled gf products then

It's really easy in Spain. Just ask for sin gluten.
