new born white pimply red rash...normal or not?

ds2 6 days old developed a pimply red rash on most of body. on tuesday Midwife said would clear up in a few days, but hasn't yet. Sound like a normal newborn rash or should I get it checked out? It isn't bothering him. Thanks!

Yup, completely normal. Should clear up within a few days. It takes a while to adjust to the outside world. Congratulations on the birth of your baby.

Normal but avoid using prodcts like Johnsons which may aggravate it.

Yes, I think it's called milk rash.

Has he had a bath yet? Newborns don't really need bathing, but it may be a heat rash and a bath in plain water may reduce it. (Also very nice opportuntiy to have a bf in the bath.) Make sure that he's wearing only natural fibres and isn't over-dressed or too snugly wrapped.
