Went to my mums for tea ds had chicken and potato (which he can have) when I first arrived I noticed a bit of red around his mouth

within ten mins this was covering his head and neck area ds was scratching like mad so gave piriton still spreading and lips and toungue started to swell so I gave another double dose of piriton and quickly drove home.

By the time I got home ds eyes were all puffy and I was starting to panic got epi-pen out

It then started to calm down and only has slight red and puffy face now

All I can think of is they have a cat and he always is a bit itchy when we have been there.

Could a cat cause such a seriouse reaction causing the tongue to swell?? worried it could turn into full anaphlyaxis(sp) next time.

Sorry its long.

was the chicken bought cooked or did you mum do it herself? i know they have warnings on the cooked ones about nut allergies

Mum brought and cooked the chicken herself and he has had that meal plenty of times.

He seems ok this morning his face is just a bit scabby.

Just worried what caused it and how bad it will be next time.

my ds1 have gone like that twice now and the doctors can still not tell me what he is allergic to they said sometimes kids can just develop allergys to something in the house and that it will pass after a while or when u find out what it is then get rid of it...so i monitor what he eats and goes near and plays with everyday to see if it happens again... hope it helps :-)
