Hi I'm going out of my mind with my little girl!!
She is almost 5 month and has quite bad reflux she was on cow gate comfort milk witch was doing her ok but struggling to take any more than 3 oz at a time then all of a sudden she started to get quite a upset tummy no vomiting but clearly in discomfort with lots of wind. So went to the doctor yesterday and told him her symptoms he thinks possibly cows milk allergy so has put her on a hypoallergenic milk called nutramigen lgg 1 now it seems the reflux is getting worse i can hear it coming up as she sleeps i dont know what to do so has any one less ever been in the same situation or what do yous think could be wrong i feel like I am fighting a losing battle with her feeding please help !!

I’m pretty sure the formula you have been prescribed is still based on Cow’s Milk, it’s just that the proteins have been hydrolysed which should break them down more making them easier to digest.

If your baby isn’t reacting well to it, she could be one of the ones that need a completely milk free formula like Nutramigen Puramino.

You GP should have at least also referred you to a Paediatric Dietician. The NICE Guidelines are here.

Allergy U.K. have a helpline if you want to talk to someone who knows more Thanks
