Dairy free hot chocolate - what do you recommend?

Hi,

I'd like to get some hot chocolate for my niece and nephew. It needs to be dairy, gluten, soya, and egg free. Which hot chocolates would you recommend? They mostly drink oaty milk so if you've any suggestions of what works well in that it would be most appreciated.

Thanks !

Oatly do their own chocolate milk that you could warm up for them? My daughters are dairy free and I use cadburys drinking chocolate mixed with oat milk for them. It's definitely dairy free but I'm not sure about the rest!

Oatly chocolate drink is delicious, but I don't think it's GF. What about Rice Dream? Or, if they're ok with nuts, there are nut milks which come in chocolate flavour, too.

Does it have to be a ready-made?

Hot cocoa made with just cocoa powder, brown sugar and hot water is veeeeery nice. Not creamy, just rich, dark and lush. You can add almost any milk substitute to make it 'creamy' - soya, IMO being the least creamy.

I melt chocolate with milk, so if you can get some dairy free chocolaet then I'd go down that route.

cocoa is lovely but might be a bit hefty for little ones.
