Can anyone help? Does this sound like an intolerance?

I get horrific upset stomach about 1 - 1.5 hours after eating anything like biscuits/cake/bread...not entirely sure what the trigger is, it could be lactose(?)/gluten(?) or something totally different.

I liken it to having food poisoning....washed out, tired, cramps, and diarrhoea. It is making me feel so unwell and ill :( . I get it at least 2-3 times a week.

Does this sound like a food intolerance? There is so much on the internet I just don't know what I can do to help myself or whether it is an intolerance.

Thank you x

It could be. Have a look at Coeliac UK website, they have a questionnaire of symptoms for Coeliac disease (gluten). The important thing with coeliacs is not to stop eating gluten till you have been tested - initially step in diagnosis is a blood test your GP can do. For other potential intolerances (they are actually non-ige allergies, intolerance is not a term which is used now, except for lactose intolerance), you just need to try removing suspected items from your diet for at least 2 weeks then retry again. Common allergies are dairy, wheat, eggs, soya, yeast, you need to test one at a time. Good luck

If it turns out that it is a gluten intolerance you can naturally treat it to relieve your symptoms.
