Best suncream for Baby with eczema?

Hello. I'm trying to find a suitable suncream for my 7 month old. We are taking all usual precautions when out and about to minimise sun exposure, but in this weather it's impossible to totally escape the rays.

He has bad (but currently controlled) eczema and a number of food allergies.

We tried Nivea 50+ sensitive for kids and it brought him up in hives all over his body.

Then tried aldi own brand as came recommended, but whilst this was fine on his shin, the patch test on eczema gave him a flare up.

Can anyone recommend a few other brands to try. I'm not out to get him a tan! But would love to enjoy some more of this good weather with him.

Thank you Smile

Green People organic suncream for babies, worked great on my baby whose eczema spread all over his body when we used Sainsbury's own brand but he's fine and actually very moisturised with the Green People one. It was made by someone whose child had eczema.

We use ladival or la Roche possay - my daughter has eczema and allergies and both have been fine. She is now 1 but used from 6 months

We use moogoo natural suncream. It's zinc based but does rub in.

dc reacted badly to anything labelled 'sensitive' or 'moisturising'
weirdly soltan beach (the 'non sticky' one) was fine.

Thank you all! That's a great selection to start trying.

One tip I learnt recently is to use a lower factor and apply more often. Factor 50 in loads of different brands always irritated DD1's skin. Tried Factor 30 and no rash!

You might need to try a load before finding one that works. Eucerin and La Roche Posay have been fine for us.

Child's farm suncream is the only one that doesn't bring my 6 month eczema sufferer out in hives xx

IF and I do mean if like me you find your child reacts badly to all suncreams its worth trying a UV all in one swimsuit/beach suit.
I bought Coolibar ones for Ben to wear on the beach so he could spend some time splashing about in the sun with his siblings. Just remember to gently soak the things off with a shower or clean water soak to reduce the risk of further damage to very sore skin.

Just wanted to come back and say having failed to get the child's farm stuff to try (out of stock), we tried la Roche posay and it seems to have worked!!! We sat under the trees with some friends in the park and I didn't panic every time he came into intact with sunshine! Even worked fine on his face.

Very happy summer everyone!
