Dh has really been suffering with his hayfever for the last 3 weeks. He already takes 180mg fexofenadine, eye drops and nasal spray. He puts vasaline round his eyes and on eyelashes and inside if his nostrils. He has come home from work looking so rough I took his temp (ear) it's 39 so now he has a temp which I have just learnt can happen when the reaction gets really bad. He has a docs appt for Tues but is there ANYTHING else that will help? He never moans about being I'll but this is really getting the better of him.

Early evening (and often into the night) is the worst time for most people with hay fever

does he start antihistamines one month before season starts, does he take them at night to lesson side effects?
does he wear glasses when he steps outside, close fitting wrap around ones.
do you avoid hanging washing on line outside, esp bedding and his clothes.
does he take his clothes off and have shower when he gets home? esp before going to bed to remove pollen.
A pollen filter for the house and bedroom is a good investment.

don't bother with honey, that's a myth.
if severe ask for referral to immunologist esp if difficult every year, there are some hay fever treatments available for those with severe hay fever.
As for steroid injections can work, but is a limit and their are side effects. it may be worth talking about this with a allergy doctor.
